At Nicolet Forest Bottling Company (pronounced Nick-o-LAY) we use only the pristine water from our protected aquifer to bottle all our Nicolet Natural Artesian Water products at the source-our 63 acres of land in northeastern Wisconsin that is surrounded by the 661,400 acres of Nicolet National Forest.

Our water source and bottling operation are 8 miles east of Mountain, Wis., in Oconto County-the gateway to the Nicolet National Forest. It's about 70 miles northwest of Green Bay, Wis.

  • You drink Nicolet Natural Artesian Water the way it comes from our protected aquifer, naturally pure, crisp and delicious.

Bottled Tap Water

Government and industry reports estimate as much as 40 percent of the bottled water sold in the United States comes from municipal water supplies-a town's or city's public tap water. Some of it is bottled as is and some is further treated. Typically this is the type of water used to make soft drinks.

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), which regulates bottled water, requires the bottle label state the water is "from a municipal source" or "from a community water system" if it is taken from a municipal source and not treated further. But if the company treats the municipal water with various approved processes that remove chemicals and pathogens, the FDA does not require companies to label that it is from a municipal source. This water may be labeled as purified water.
