1.WHERE DOES THE WATER COME FROM?

Nicolet Natural Artesian Water comes from an Artesian well located in the Nicolet National Forest.  TheNicolet National Forest bottling plant is located approximately 80 miles northwest of Green Bay.  (to be more exact, it is 24 miles west of the town of Crivitz, and approximately 8 miles east of the town of Mountain.)  The Nicolet Forest is located in the far northeast section of Wisconsin.  It is bordered on the north by the northern Michigan state line.  Its southern boundary is approximately 60 miles north of Green Bay.  The National Forest is protected by the United States Forest Service and the United States Department of Agriculture.

2.WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN ARTESIAN WATER AND SPRING WATER?
Artesian water comes from a well sunk deep into the ground.  In the case of Nicolet Natural, natural pressure created by the surrounding cliffs of granite forces the water to the surface from a protected aquifer.  No contaminates are picked up along the way, because Nicolet Natural flows through a well casing and not through soil and rock layers, which is typical of Spring water.

3.WHAT DO YOU DO TO THE WATER BEFORE BOTTLING?

Bottles being filled.Nicolet Natural passes through a series of micron filters, each having the capability of removing any naturally occurring particles or sediment (such as silica sand) to the size of 1 micron.  By comparison, human hair is approximately 50 microns.  This filtering process does not change the molecular or inorganic structure of Nicolet Natural.  The way you drink Nicolet Natural is the way it comes out of the aquifer- crisp and pure.

4. HOW OFTEN IS THE WATER TESTED?
The product water is tested daily for ph levels, ozone concentration levels, conductivity levels, and of course taste.  Bacteriological testing is done on a weekly basis and is sent to an independent laboratory.  Once annually we are required to do an extensive microbiological chemical analysis of the product, and once every two years we are required to do a radiological testing.  It should be noted that bacteria tests are done on caps as well as bottles.  These are quality tests to insure that the bottles and caps are sanitized and bacteria free.  The filling machines, cappers, nozzles and the conveyors are sanitized daily with an approved solution, and rinsed with ozonated water to insure a quality product.  F.D.A. material certification is on file for everything that comes in contact with the product water.

5. WHO REGULATES BOTTLED WATER?
The Nicolet Forest Bottling Company is regulated by the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Food and Consumer Protection Division, The F.D.A. (Food and Drug Administration), the E.P.A. (Environmental Protection Agency); as well as the National Sanitation Foundation (N.S.F.).  Routine and unannounced inspections are carried out on an annual basis by all of these agencies.

6. WHY DO I WANT NICOLET NATURAL INSTEAD OF PURIFIED WATER OR PROCESSED WATER?

When a label states that the product is "natural", this means that no minerals or chemicals have been deleted or added to the product.Just say Nicolet Everyday!  Such is the case with Nicolet Natural.  Conversely, retail products like Pepsi's "Aquafina" and Coke's "Dasani" are processed from the same municipal water used to make soft drinks.  Midwest 5 gallon brands "Hinkley Springs Drinking Water", "Culligan" and "Sparkling Springs Water" are processed or blended to meet certain mineral content.  And therein lies the major difference between natural and processed . . . taste.  You simply cannot manufacture the natural taste and crispness of Mother Nature.  And when you are paying about the same price or higher for processed water, it makes sense to do it naturally with Nicolet Natural.

7. HOW MUCH FLUORIDE IS IN THE WATER?

The maximum contaminate level established by the F.D.A. for fluoride is 2.4 m.c.l.  Nicolet Natural contains 0.4 m.c.l. of natural fluoride.  Should you desire more fluoride in your daily drinking water, we suggest that you consult your physician and/or dentist as too much fluoride can be harmful.
